Natalie Brown is a licensed Landscape Architect, President and Design Lead of Studio Brown, Inc., a Boston-based landscape architecture studio. Since joining the firm in 2021 and becoming an owner, Natalie has led the studio’s evolution while building upon nearly three decades of design excellence established by the firm’s founders.
Graduating from Pennsylvania State University with degrees in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Sculpture, Natalie brings a unique perspective that blends artistic expression, environmental stewardship, and human-centered design. Her work ranges from large-scale campus and master planning initiatives to intimate outdoor learning environments, parks, and community spaces. She is particularly passionate about educational landscapes and creating environments that foster exploration, wellness, and meaningful connections to nature.
Natalie leads the studio with a perspective shaped by her own experience as a person with dyslexia. This influence extends beyond her design work to the way the firm approaches collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. By understanding that people experience and process the world differently, she creates spaces that are more inclusive, intuitive, and responsive to the needs of diverse users. Her advocacy for neurodivergent students and inclusive learning environments has become a driving force behind the firm’s growing work in outdoor classrooms, sensory-rich landscapes, and educational campuses.
She believes that great design begins with listening to the land, to communities, and to the people who will ultimately inhabit and enjoy a space, and that the most successful landscapes leave a lasting positive impact for generations to come.
When Natalie is not at the office, you can find her on the slopes in the winter or at new restaurants around Boston.
